So it's been a busy 3 months since I raced Ironman Lanzarote, and now it's the night before Ironman Copenhagen. How time flies when you're having fun...

So I picked up a calf strain in a local sprint race 6 weeks ago, which has hampered my run training leading up to this race. I was honoured to race at the Standard distance European championships in Estonia where I represented Great Britain as an age grouper (my first time) and I have to say it was a fantastic experience.The run was more of a steady training effort as my calf was still recovering. Still, with my pace plan model I was able to gauge exactly how to race it so I only lost 4 mins over what I would of aimed for if I was fully fit.

With the extra time I've had after cutting back on the run training I've been able to get quite a bit done on the pace plan website. There's still quite a lot to do but it's getting there and I'm really excited to share it and see what you guys make of it.

I'm happy to say in the last week my calf seems to be back to normal, so I expect I will be able to run without problems tomorrow, but we shall see...

So here it goes. I've run the numbers through my Paceplan model and this is what it calculates:

Swim = 01:10:13

Bike   =05:35:58

Run    =03:39:54

Add 10mins for T1+T2 my target Total Time = 10:36:06

The proof is in the pudding, and in Ironman anything can happen.

I'm starting at 6:20 GMT and if you are interested you can follow me on the IRONMAN Tracker app. my number is 1532.

Wish me luck :)
